Congratulations to Year 11. The boys prepared well and have been well rewarded for their efforts. They were exemplary throughout the exam period, encouraging and supporting each other. We are especially pleased to see the marked improvement in English. Thank you to the parents, staff, trustees and governors who have given such great support to help secure this success for our students.
110 students sat GCSEs at William Ellis School this summer and we are delighted with their results:
40% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate (English, Maths, Geography or History, two Sciences and a Foreign Language at grades 4 to 9)
50 boys took GCSEs in the three separate sciences and they achieved excellent results with 38% in Biology, 32% in Chemistry and 40% in Physics achieving the top grades (7 to 9). Other subjects with more than a quarter of grades at A & A* include: French (28%), German (35%), Maths (26%) and Music (43%).
These boys gained 5 or more GCSEs at grades 7, 8 and 9 (A & A*). Every one of these grades have been achieved in challenging facilitating subjects (English Language, English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, French, German, History, Geography, Art and Music).
Most of these students have made outstanding progress over their time at the school. Other boys who have made outstanding progress include: Omar Gomez, Simon Gomez-Arias, Jack Elliot-Major, Callum Palmer, Dan Cooney, Akif Bashid and Ricardo Newton-Rohoman.
