    William Ellis Counselling Service

When life brings stressful situations and worries build up, it can be hard to find the words to explain what the problem is or to feel that someone else will understand. Counselling is somewhere to turn to get support when things aren’t feeling right. It is a confidential space to share things that are on your mind in your own time and in your own way. It is about having someone there to listen to you and to think difficulties through in a non-judgmental way, helping to prevent problems from worsening and impacting on relationships, school or home life.

Students often say they feel lighter when they are able to get things off their chest in a place where they can be themselves.

Issues that bring students into Counselling are wide ranging, they are unique to each person. There is really nothing that is off limits that can’t be explored, no matter how big or small. Students can access the service directly or by letting their tutor or Head of Year know. Parents can also get in touch if they have concerns about their child. Students can come for an initial chat or regular sessions. It is not always easy to reach out and ask for help, but the Counselling Service is there in school, for anyone in need of extra support.
