Dear WESPA Parents and Carers,

This evening we were meant to hold the grand opening of the new quad area at the school, with an international evening event to celebrate the diverse but connected community of William Ellis. Sadly this event cannot happen, but Mr Pratt, with the support of WESPA, is determined that we will have this event as soon as safely possible.

This was also meant to be a Deep Learning Day focussing on the theme of having more in common than that which divides us. This has been the message promoted by the Jo Cox Foundation, which was set up after the MP was murdered. It is a message that resonates particularly at this time.

The Jo Cox Foundation encourages people to join together on the anniversary of her murder for a Great Get Together. This is also difficult at this time, but maybe it is a good moment to connect with our neighbours and remember what we do have in common.

The Quad

Ms Conran has been in touch about the new quad area. WESPA previously voted to offer some support with funding the renovation of this outside space. As priorities are changing, the school is looking to make better use of outside space and are considering a retractable all weather covering. Has anyone in the WESPA community got any contacts with a firm that might help to provide and install a retractable cover? It would need to be waterproof with automated extension and warranty. If you think you might be able to help, please get in touch.
