About the role
We are looking for a Teacher of Science who will lead our Key Stage 5 vocational provision in Science. This is currently a BTEC Level 3 Award, but a critical aspect of the role would be to lead the introduction of a T Level in Science from 2025. The postholder would also hold the Quality Nominee responsibilities for the school.
The successful candidate will be someone who can bring commitment and expertise to our curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages. You would be supported in your professional development whatever your stage of teaching career.
The Science Department is well-established and has a track record of strong attainment, especially for the 30% of students who take three separate sciences at GCSE. The team are cohesive and strongly committed to the school. All the teachers are able to teach general science at Key Stage 3, as well as their own specialism at Key Stage 4 to triple or combined Science groups. There is a diverse A Level offer: William Ellis leads the vocational science provision in the LaSWAP Consortium and teaches all three Science A Level subjects. Enrichment provision in the department includes partnership work with the local CRICK Institute and takes advantage of education provision at a range of London university and museum venues.
