    Role: Deputy Head of Modern Foreign Languages – September Start   

    Salary: Main/Upper Scale + TLR2b (Inner London)

    Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time, Permanent  

    About the role 

    We are currently looking for a Deputy Head of Modern Foreign Languages who can bring commitment and expertise to our curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages. You would be supported in your professional development whatever your stage of teaching career.

    You would join a well-established team and successful Language Department and would be required to teach German up to KS5 as well as French or Spanish up to KS4. The ability to teach a third language at any Key Stage would be desirable, but not essential. All students learn French from Year 7 and then some can learn a second language in year 8 and year 9. We have a strong double linguists programme at GCSE with excellent results. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, vision, resilience and strong interpersonal skills. The languages department is a center of excellence at William Ellis School, and you would be joining a strong, committed team. 

    The successful candidate will be:

    • Committed to maximising pupil progress through setting high standards and by delivering effective teaching and learning
    • Able to motivate, lead, support and challenge students to be successful
