This Week's WESPA Round-Up:
I look forward to seeing many of you this evening at the WESPA Social (Duke of St Albans NW5 1QX from 7pm) and don’t forget the AGM next week.
There are WESPA meetings every half-term and these are the perfect opportunity to share ideas, find out what is going on in school and meet and make some new friends too. This is a special one as we will be electing our Trustees for the coming year. We will meet in the library at 6.30pm on Wednesday 27th November. This week also brings news of our most recent Ofsted Inspection. My fellow Trustee and WES parent Alex Booij had this to say:
WESPA would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire school community on the fantastic achievement of receiving this rating in the recent Ofsted inspection. This is a testament to the dedication, and passion that is brought to school every day.
To the leadership team, staff, and all who contribute to the success of William Ellis, the commitment to providing the best possible education for our WES boys is truly commendable. Achieving this milestone is not just a reflection of academic excellence but also of the supportive, caring, and inspiring environment fostered at WES.
This result is a celebration of the collective effort to nurture, guide, and challenge all WES boys to succeed, and WESPA is sure that it will motivate and inspire everyone to continue striving for excellence. Well done once again on this well deserved recognition, the impact will be felt for years to come.
Lost Property and Winter Coats Drive
On Wednesday 27th November WESPA, volunteers will be laying out all the lost property in the foyer for boys to collect missing items. This will be available during lunch and remain through the afternoon. We have arranged with school to leave the tables in place after school and until the AGM at 6.30pm so that parents can come and check too. Unclaimed branded school items will be washed and recycled for uniform donations and unclaimed coats will be donated to the Chestertons Winter Coat Drive. All other items will be recycled or disposed of.
Y10 Mock Interviews - call for volunteers
Following the success of last year’s event, the WES Careers Department will be running this event again on Monday 10th February 2025, 9am - 1.10pm.
The event consists of mock interviews and role play in the job application process and is a great experience for the students in the build up to work experience later in the year as well as valuable life skills. We need 10-15 parent or local business volunteers to help with the mock interviews - please get in touch if you would like to help.
I look forward to seeing many of you later and for everybody else, have a great weekend and see you at the AGM next week.
Best wishes,
Al
