Autumn Term - 10th October 2024
Welcome to our latest news update, a day early and somewhat briefer, following a busy week.
As you know, we had a two-day graded Ofsted inspection on Tuesday and Wednesday. I am pleased to be able to report a sense of relief that an inspection that had been long awaited has now passed, and it has been a pleasure to be in school with the students and staff today. We are not allowed to share anything about the gradings given until the official report is published, but will do so as soon as possible after that. We are expecting that publication to be at some point in late October or early November.
I would like to thank the large number of parents who responded to the ParentView survey, and who also supported the students to respond. 92% of parents said that their child feels happy at this school, and 90% of students would recommend the school to others. The full set of responses can be seen on the Ofsted site here. I know that some of you also wrote individually to the inspection team.
We would like to thank the students for their conduct and leadership of each other throughout the two days, whether they spoke to inspectors or were seen in lessons or elsewhere in the school. They demonstrated our 5Rs consistently and with pride.
Thank you also for the support from our WESPA Trustees and volunteers, for the refreshments that you brought in for the staff on Tuesday and Wednesday. It helped us all to remain focused and energetic throughout - the inspection process is intense and thorough and all members of staff, teaching or otherwise, played an important part in that.
Finally, due to some additional demand and queries, we are running an additional Open Morning next week, Friday 18th October 9 - 10:30am. If you have a son in year 6 and are still considering your choice of school, or if you know someone else who is and you think that they should come and look at what we do, please see more details here on our website.
Many thanks for your ongoing support and best wishes for the weekend.
